Are You a Chosen One?
We’re not talking about religion, but maybe we’re talking about faith.
Some of us are in the careers we chose, but I think many of us feel like our careers chose us—or worse, like we had no choice at all.
Some people know exactly what they want to be when they grow up, and that’s what they become. But for others, the path isn’t so clear. Sometimes, you don’t realize what you don’t want until you’re smack in the middle of it. That realization can come late, but it’s not the end.
Maybe you’re living a past dream that no longer fits. Maybe you’re living someone else’s dream that never felt like yours.
Here’s the good news: you can take control.
Whether you love your current job or feel stuck in it, the steps are the same:
- Learn: Hone your skills and stay curious.
- Grow: Look for ways to advance, even if it’s just moving toward clarity about your next step.
- Prepare: Every skill and achievement adds to your story for your next interview, performance review, or opportunity.
Whether you feel like you chose your career or it chose you, the power to make decisions—big or small, now or soon—is yours.
Believe it.
What do you think? Have you felt like a “Chosen One” in your career? Or do you feel ready to make your next choice?
Let’s talk about it.
Did you choose your career, or did it choose you?
