Bad Mentoring Models: Gale the Ghost
This week I am going to write about some people that you might have to deal with at work, folks who might be designated or see themselves as mentors but who you should do your best to avoid or overcome in order to keep your hands on the wheel of your career. This week I’m focusing on one category that I’ll call the Missing Mentors.
It sure seemed like your relationship with Gale was going to be a good one. You really hit it off at your first meeting… and then that was it. Maybe Gale left the job or just ran out of time for you. But as far as you can tell, Gale is gone, disappeared, and not returning your messages and nowhere to be found.
