Face Front! Friday!
Let’s show everyone how we’re celebrating the end of the week!
Post an image (you or a passable proxy) that shows how you’re feeling on this fine Friday.
Me?
I’m sad. Earlier this week, Kenny Holtzman passed away. He was an amazing baseball player, at University of Illinois, then for the Cubs, who traded him to the Oakland A’s, where he enjoyed his greatest success. He pitched while serving his country, and he pitched while staying true to his faith.
And he was the first celebrity that I ever met. Thanks, dad, for waiting in line with me at Bargain Town (later known as Toys R Us) to get his autograph after he threw his second no-hitter for the Cubs.
He was a trailblazer and by all accounts, a pretty good guy.
Thanks Kenny.
