Great Reason to Like Social Media

One of my favorite attributes of social media is this:

There is strength in distance.

I don’t mean leverage or magnetic force or anything scientific like that.

I also don’t mean the way some people hide in the distance and anonymity of social media to be mean or punch down. I have a feeling if you’re reading this, you aren’t like that.

I mean the relationships I have been able to build thanks to social media like the platform you are using right now.

People I’ve never met

People I’ve only met once or twice

People on the other side of the planet

People at work I can get to know in a deeper way.

People I knew but never really got to know… even if I was in the same classroom with them every day for four years in high school or college.

I’m glad I know you now.
