Happy Birthday, Harry Chapin
Harry Chapin was an amazing folk singer and humanitarian who died at age 39. He was born on December 7, 1942 so I’m a couple days late celebrating the 80th anniversary of his birth.
One of his earliest and greatest songs is called Taxi and there’s a lyric that is extremely important to me:
“Oh, I’ve got something inside me
But it’s not what my life’s about,
Cause I’ve been letting my outside tide me
Over ’till my time runs out”
Is there something inside you, an emotion, an idea, a dream, a declaration, that you have not released?
Is it what your life should REALLY be about?
Do it! For yourself and for the people you care for.
Sing it out.
Don’t let your outside tide you over ‘till your time runs out.
What do you think?
See you tomorrow!
