Say thank you and then build on it
When somebody pays you a compliment, say thank you. Don’t deny it or deflect. Modesty has its place but not here. You can and should give credit to your team, to those who helped you, but first… first… acknowledge that somebody important just told you that you’re good at something and that you helped them, made their life easier. Say thank you.
And then process this. You just got some external recognition of your value and your contribution. Internalize it and know it’s true. Look for opportunities to build on this even more.
